Durdy
James "Durdy" Garmon is the hottest independent hip hop artist from Tupelo Ms, which also happens to be the home of platinum selling rap group Rae Sremmurd, and the legendary Elvis Presley! He built his unique style from surviving an impoverished and difficult childhood, yet he managed to write poetry and listen to music as his escape from the harsh reality. His philosophy is, "You have to make the best of your circumstances. Music saved my life and kept me off the streets." His lyrics consist of powerful and meaningful messages and ideas.Durdy is presently working on his newest release "Black Snake Moan " available for release later this year. He is also a regular in the hip hop showcases from Atlanta to his home state Mississippi.He first performed live at age 15 at a local festival with artists like Big Moe, Olivia, Tank, Pretty Willie, as well artist like Gucci mane. He has recently hit the stage with Down south artists like Celina Lina, and DJ Pressure, Pistol Maine, Mr Raw, Haystack, JellyRoll, Lil Wyte, Rich Boy, Q Dot Davis, and Rich Boy. Aside from doing shows and spending time on his music, Durdy is an internet radio personality on his show "Sipptalk" which highlights independent music and artists in his area and gives them the opportunity to be heard. His goal is to bring Hip Hop to its legendary greatness again.Durdy was recently selected number 11 and 13 on Coast 2 Coast trending artist of the week 5 weeks strong which he can add to his growing list of accomplishments. A record deal would be great, but until then he wants to continue to hustle and grind in the independent arena, and learn all he can about the industry. He is currently being managed by his label and managment company owner Bernadette Walker.
